Workshop Content Summary
The workshop will be conducted by: Prof. Ruben Abagyan (UCSD), Dr. Maxim Totrov (Principal Scientist, MolSoft LLC) and Eugene Raush (Principal Software Developer, MolSoft LLC). This workshop will teach you from first prinicples all you need to know about ICM scripting so you can automate your work using ICM and write your own macros and scripts.
Key topics include:
- Learn the basics of the ICM scripting language.
- Working with chemical spreadsheets. Learn how to manipulate and analyze large chemical data sets.
- Scripting with molecules, sequences and meshes.
- Working with macros and scripts - learn how to write your own ICM code to automate protein structure and chemical analysis.
- Graphical User Interface programming in ICM. Learn how to develop your own user specific dialog windows, buttons and menus.
- Input/Output and external services - communicating with HTTP services and using POST/GET methods.
- ActiveICM and Web Publishing ( http://www.molsoft.com/activeicm.html) - learn how to make fully interactive molecular documents. If you use ActiveICM for displaying fully-interactive molecules in PowerPoint and the web then this session will teach you how to get the most from this free plugin.
- Learn about advanced data types and operations.
- Learn how to integrate ICM with JavaScript.
