Anticancer Chemotherapy Drugs

Cancer is one of the most common causes of death in the western world. Cancer cells can multiply rapidly but are difficult to treat because they look similar to normal cells. Most anticancer chemotherapy drugs have serious side effects because they target healthy cells too such as cells in the stomach and hair follicles. The drug Bleomycin can be used in the treatment of Hodgkin lymphoma, squamous cell carcinomas and testicular cancer. Bleomycin attacks DNA in actively growing cells cleaving the DNA chain and killing the cell.
